Statement of Faith

1. The Scriptures are the verbally inspired, inerrant, infallible and authoritative Word of God. II Timothy 3: 16,17; II Peter 1:20, 21

2. There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28: 19; II Cor. 13: 13,14

3. The Lord Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; He is true God and true Man, without sin. Matthew 1: 20; Luke 1: 30 – 35; Hebrews 4: 14 - 15

4. Jesus Christ became a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, arose bodily, ascended into Heaven, and is now our great High Priest. Hebrews 10: 10 – 12; I Peter 3: 18; Isaiah 53: 6

5. There will be a personal, visible, bodily and imminent return of our Lord, to be followed by the Tribulation, and His second coming to rule and reign for 1,000 years. Acts 1: 11;

I Cor.15: 51, 52; Revelation 1: 7; 19:11f; 20:1 - 4

6. Man was created in the image and likeness of God, but voluntarily fell from his sinless state.  As a result, all men are sinners and in need of a Savior.  Genesis 1: 26 – 27; Romans 5: 12

7. Salvation is by grace through faith, and can be received by faith in the finished work of Christ. Ephesians 2: 8 – 9; Titus 3: 4 - 7

8. There will be eternal, conscious blessedness of the saved and everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost. Matt. 25: 46; Luke 16: 19 - 31

9. Creation was direct and instantaneous; completed in six literal, twenty-four days.  Genesis 1

10. We believe that the church is a body of baptized believers, bound together by a covenant of faith and by the command of the great commission.  Matt. 28: 19 – 20; Acts 2: 41; I Timothy 3: 15

The church is independent and autonomous in its relationship to the State and to any religious hierarchy. Acts 6: 1 - 4

Its only rule of faith and practice is the Holy Scriptures. Acts 2: 42; II Timothy 4: 1 - 4

The Scriptural ordinances of the church are baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, of which both are to be administered by the local church. Acts 18: 8; I Cor. 11: 17f

The Scriptural offices of the church are those of pastor and deacon. Acts 20: 28; I Peter 5: 1 – 4; I Timothy 3
